“Nine Tests Every Christian Must Face”
This 9 lesson series by Bro Michael Wiltcher is a fabulous look at the tests which God allows all of His Children to go through in order to Grow and become all that God would have them to be.
-
The Wilderness Test – Deuteronomy 8:2 – The word “wilderness” is defined as a desert place; a place uncultivated or lived in; a state of disorder. Wildernesses are places of difficulties, pressures, insufficient resources, and oppositions. However, while God’s testing may be universal, it’s left up to our personal inclinations to determine the outcome of the trial.
-
The Time Test – Genesis 12:1-2 – God has never made a promise that won’t come to pass. He causes us to wait in order that we may develop maturity. In order to receive His promises, we must pass His ‘Time Test.’
-
The Motivation Test – John 3:25 – The Motivation Test occurs when God exposes the Christian to forces that influence our decision-making process. This test allows not only God to see who we serve, but shows us too. If you can make it through the motivation test, you’re on a path of righteousness.
-
The Failure Test – Joshua 7:2-3 – The Motivation Test occurs when God exposes the Christian to forces that influence our decision-making process. This test allows not only God to see who we serve, but shows us too. If you can make it through the motivation test, you’re on a path of righteousness.
-
The Self Will Test – Matthew 26:36 – Self-will is defined as pleasing ones self. Especially when it’s in opposition to the wishes or desires of others. When we are willing to lay down our lives in submission, then we have passed the self-will test.
-
The Discouragement Test – 1 Kings 19:1-2 – At some point in life, everyone will face discouragement. Whether we’re afraid, fatigued, frustrated, forsaken, or feel like a failure, we must remember that, even in our trails, God is always there for us. It’s how we deal with discouragement that determines our successes, failures, and the amount of blessings God will pour out.
-
The Misunderstanding Test – Luke 19:10 – Everyone will be misunderstood at some point in his or her life. How one deals with misunderstandings reveals one’s character, maturity, and ability to lead. Failing the misunderstanding test often leaves us defeated and embittered, however, passing it brings us closer to the character of Christ.
-
The Frustration Test – 2 Corinthians 11:16 – Frustration is an emotion that occurs in situations where one is blocked from reaching a personal goal. How we handle these frustrations determines who we are and where we’re going. Your promises, successes, and leadership depend upon you passing the frustration test.
-
The Servant Test – 1 Kings 19:19 -The last lesson Christ taught to His disciples before Calvary was about being a servant. He used a pan of water and a towel to show who would be the greatest in His kingdom. What we hear on judgement day depends upon how we do on the servant test.
“Focus on Farming”
Just like Jesus used stories of things the people would understand Brother Tim Kelley uses that same approach to teach this five lesson series on growing your church. It all begins with soil preparation then moves on to sowing and then taking care of the fields for proper growth. Winning souls takes the same effort and a harvest of souls depends on our knowing just how to do it and then actually doing the work. The fact is too many of us have been uncultivated in righteousness. It’s time to let true repentance break up our fruitless and hardened hearts. When this is done, and when the seed of the Word of Life is sown in them, worldly cares and concerns will not arise and choke out the good seeds.
-
Lesson One – Breaking Up Your Fallow Ground – Jeremiah 4:3 – Any good farmer will tell you that before one can grow any kind of a garden, one must first plow up the ground where the garden will be. If the ground isn’t plowed, a seeds roots have no where to go and ultimately will die. It is only after the plowing that one can begin the process of sowing and reaping.<
-
Lesson Two – A Sower Went Forth to SOW – Matthew 13:3-9 – There is no question; this is harvest time. We’re to be reapers, to gather in the ripened grain. But here is the paradox: we are not only to harvest, we must also sow. If we fail to sow, there will be no harvest. The cycle is meant to be continuous.
-
Lesson Three – A Heart for the Harvest – James 7:8 – These words of James make it clear that the coming of the Lord is ever imminent. James also wanted it perfectly understood that God’s purpose, until He comes, is to gather a harvest of redeemed men from every kindred, nation, and tongue. God is at work now by His Spirit, gathering a redeemed multitude that no man can number.
-
Lesson Four – Unreaped Fields – John 4:35-36 – Whitened harvest fields are a grave concern for Christ; and with good reason. Grain having reached such a stage is in danger of being forever lost, for it falls to the ground with the slightest breeze or provocation. Will this harvest go without being reaped?
-
Lesson Five – Patience in the Harvest – James 5:7-8 – We have been promised a great harvest. Patience will be essential if we want to see it reaped. If we see the invisible provision of God, if we experience a daily renewal, and if we determine to trust God to the end, then we can exercise patience in the harvest.
MY FAMILY MATTERS
This Study designed by Steve Bertrand is Called My Family Matters. It deals with the Basics of the Apostolic Faith and shows both how to get into the Kingdom of God and then how to live and walk as children of God.
If every family reviewed this study every year the truths of this study would be founded in the heart to not only teach but to remember our origins of Apostolic Teaching. This study covers the basics.

“FORGIVENESS – A Study in Philemon”
The little referred to Book of Philemon holds a treasure chest of teaching. Bro Tim Kelly in these 4 lessons on Forgiveness opens up those treasures of understanding bringing forth the parts, character, actions and motivations of Forgiveness. This series really brings the Book of Philemon to life.
-
Lesson One – The Parts of Forgiveness – Proverbs 19:11 – To forgive completely requires one of the most difficult of all adjustments, but Jesus described it so simply. Just as we need forgiveness, so we must forgive others. If we refuse to forgive others, God will refuse to forgive us.
-
Lesson Two – The Character of Forgiveness – Philemon 7 – “We live obviously in a society that knows little about forgiveness. We live in a society that cares little about forgiveness. In fact, I would think that one of the major contributors, if not the major contributor to the destructions of relationships in our culture is the absence of forgiveness.”
-
Lesson Three – The Acton of Forgiveness – Philemon 18 – Forgiveness in action will make reception, restoration and restitution. It takes all three for forgiveness to work. Otherwise it’s just a toleration of the person who hurt you.
-
Lesson Four – The Motivation of Forgiveness – Philemon 19-25 – Forgiveness is the work of God in us. Jesus Christ changed Onesimus’s relationship with Philemon from slave to brother. In the same manner, Christ can transform our most hopeless relationships into deep and loving friendships.
“WISDOM For Today”
If there were ever a day in which our world needed some Wisdom it is today. But just like Solomon we had better be careful and remember what do with the Wisdom God so generously bestows upon humanity. Without obedience to those directions and leading and commandments we will all be lost. This 9 lesson series by Tim Kelley is a valuable tool for any church to use.
-
You Had Better Wise Up – Proverbs 1:2-4 – This series of messages is geared to teach us about being wise in the high-tech age in which we live. – There’s only one way to do that successfully over the long haul: you have to develop wisdom. – For the next several weeks, we will look at ways we can apply God’s wisdom to basically every area of our lives – our spiritual lives, our jobs, our friendships, our finances, and on and on. We will need a good reference book for our study. Our source for this series is the Bible, and, more specifically, the book of Proverbs.<
-
In God We Trust, Or do we? – Provers 3:5-6 – As we continue our series of messages geared to help live and act wisely in our daily lives, I want to talk about an obvious sign of wisdom – and yet, it is overlooked even by Christians.
-
Who Do You Work For? – Proverbs 22:29 – – No matter how you answer that question, it is important for all of us from time to time to stop and examine who it is we work for. The reason is that when we have a clear picture in our mind of who we are working to impress or please, it will affect the way we do our jobs.
-
Be Money Wise- Matthew 6:19-21 – When read within this context, we see that life is like the gathering of wealth, and a choice confronts us: treasure on earth or treasure in heaven.
-
Choose Your Friends Wisely – Proverbs 17:17 – It has been said that “He who has a friend is the possessor of one of the best gifts that life can bring to an individual.”
-
Choose Your Words Carefully – Proverbs 10:19 – In the fulfilling the great commission, we never have the license to kill or wound others with our words.
-
Take Some Good Advise – Proverbs 12:15 – If you are in the process of trying to apply some real wisdom in your life, you will need to fine-tune the art of taking advice.
-
Be a Peace Maker – James 3:17 – The Word of God puts a premium on living peaceably, on being a person who makes peace and then keeps the peace. But, it is something that is contradictory to our human natures.
-
Never Give Up – Proverbs 24:16 – We consider the Apostle Paul today to be one of the great heroes of the faith; but the Bible gives us indications that even he had times of discouragement and apparently faced times when he was physically or emotionally knocked down. The beauty of this is that we get to read of the way that he had learned to handle those bad situations.
“My Family Matters”
This 8 Lesson Series of Bible Studies was designed by Bro Steve Bertrand laying the groundwork of Christian Principals. Anyone who would actually teach this series every year would stabilize the families in the congregation. If you are not a pastor this will work teaching to your family anytime.
